Instructor Preparation

  1. Receive and sign an Instructor Agreement & Schedule B prior to Training.
Click here to download the Instructor Agreement & Schedule B
Read this information carefully and bring it with you to the Training completely filled out.  Please recognize that BTS Training is a strenuous workout which is only appropriate for individuals in good physical and mental health.

  2. Arrive on time for the Training.
If you arrive after the Master Class has begun, you will not be permitted into the Training.  No exceptions!

  3. Participate 100% in the Training.
You are required to participate in 100% of the training.  This means completing the allotted days and hours of the training and participating in all aspects of the training including the Team Training.  If you have medical conditions, including pregnancy, that concern you, you must check with your doctor prior to the training to confirm your ability to participate.

  4. Bring a CD Walkman.
In training, you will receive all the program resources that you will need to be successful, which includes a CD of the music used to teach class.   You will be listening to this CD throughout the entire weekend as you prepare to practice teaching.

  5. Bring a pen or pencil.
Your Trainer will be saying some brilliant things that you’ll want to jot down in your Instructor Workbook.  So, be prepared!

  6. Traveling?
You will receive a DVD of the entire class you are training to teach.  If you are staying at a hotel, you might enjoy the convenience of bringing a DVD player to help you practice.  If you are unable to bring a DVD player, don’t worry. There will be one at the club and there will be time allocated at the end of the day for you to watch the class DVD.

  7. An email address is required.
The vast majority of our communication, such as information on new apparel items on the BodyShop, events, program releases, and updated educational resources, will be shared with each instructor via email.

  8. A change of clothes and appropriate shoes required.
You will be moving, sweating, sitting, standing. You will be hot, you will be cold! We suggest dressing in layers, since room temperatures may be out of our control during training.  Don’t forget to have deodorant and breathe mints on hand too.

  9. Bring a towel or two.
Like we said, you will be sweating!

  10. Bring plenty of food and snacks.
Maybe even a special treat for the Trainer.  He or she will be very happy!

  11. Plan on homework.
You will be assigned homework. We suggest leave the evenings free.

  12. Have FUN!

Within 90 days of completing your Initial Training you are required to submit a video of  you teaching the program in a live class setting to become certified.  Once your video has been received at BTS corporate headquarters, you will receive an email confirming its arrival.   It will be assessed within four (4) weeks of receipt and your results will be emailed to you (another reason why you need an email account) and your certificate will be mailed to you.  The cost of Assessment is $35 ($40 CDN) per video.  Click here to find out more about Assessment.
